Document Direct attends Katchr Connect 2026

The Document Direct team had a fantastic day at Katchr Connect 2026, with Martyn Best, CEO, and Karen Godden, Client Success Manager, joining legal professionals from across the UK for a day of thought-provoking discussions, practical insights and valuable networking.

Learning from industry leaders

Two keynote sessions left a particularly strong impression, with both Matthew Syed and Jonathan Watmough sharing different perspectives on a common theme: the importance of developing a growth mindset.

Matthew Syed challenged delegates to think about the skills they want to develop over the next six months and encouraged everyone to embrace continuous learning. One quote that resonated throughout the room came from Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella:

“Don’t be a know-it-all. Be a learn-it-all.”

It was a timely reminder that our ability to learn, adapt and improve is one of the greatest drivers of personal and professional success.

Jonathan Watmough also gave an engaging session, drawing on his experience of working with law firms across the UK. His insights prompted delegates to reflect on the distinction between management and leadership, and how effective leadership helps firms build stronger teams and navigate change.

Great conversations throughout the day

As exhibitors, we were delighted to welcome so many visitors to our stand. It was a pleasure to catch up with existing clients, meet new contacts and discuss the challenges firms are facing.  These ranged from managing workloads and improving efficiency to supporting teams with flexible document production and transcription services.

Events such as Katchr Connect provide a valuable opportunity to share ideas, learn from others and better understand how the legal sector continues to evolve.

Congratulations to our competition winners

Our “Guess the Number of Scrabble Tiles” competition proved to be a popular feature throughout the day.

Congratulations to Simon Bradshaw, who claimed first place with a guess just 9 tiles away from the correct total of 315. By a remarkable coincidence, 315 is also the distance of Martyn Best’s longest cycling ride!

Second place went to Joe Fox, who was only 15 tiles away, while Craig Farr secured third place with a guess just 30 tiles from the correct answer.

For a bit of fun, we also asked ChatGPT to have a go… even it finished 75 tiles away!

Thank you

A huge thank you to the entire Katchr team for organising another excellent event. It was a well-run day filled with insightful speakers, meaningful conversations and plenty of opportunities to connect with colleagues from across the legal sector.

We look forward to seeing everyone again next year.
