Sit back and relax with the trackwheel mouse and trigger clickIf the answer to this question is yes, then the best dictation device for you could be a Phillips Speechmike. We recommend this type of device as, not only is it easy to use, but it’s extremely comfortable.

The Phillips Speechmike has a trackball on the front so it doubles up as a mouse. Imagine instead of leaning forward and stretching for your mouse on your desk, now you can sit back, nice and comfortable, in your chair.

The Speechmike works with our Winscribe author software (available from us for free) so you record directly into your computer. A lengthy USB cable still allows you to move around your desk and delve into your files. Simply use the buttons on the handset to record, play and rewind and when you’ve finished a piece of work, another button on the handset will send your dictation directly to your typist.

Costs vary between suppliers but are around £200 plus VAT. You can learn more about digital dictation hardware from from Midland Dictation Services.
